I was listening to the radio a few nights ago, and I heard something interesting. It was talking about how when looking for a pet, specifically talking about dogs, but the same goes for all pets, one should look for a pet with a similar attitude to oneself. When I first heard this, I thought it was absolutely crazy, I mean, a pet can't have that much influence on its owner. Then I realzed something for me. I have a dog and two cats. The dog is a big old lazy golden retriever, and the cats are cute, little, curious little kittens. Both appeal to different parts of me (I am a very curious, but very lazy person). And I realized that when I am sitting, the dog at my feet, and the cats curled up around me, it is just so calming, a sense of calm that you can't really get anywhere else. So here is my theoretical question. If you got a pet with a radically different attitude than yours (say you are a calm, peacefull person, and the pet was agressive and excitable) which do you think would happen first, you changing to be more like the pet, or the pet changing to be more like you?
